Trend forecasts for 2024 look pretty accurate so far, but there’s always those small niche styles that slip through the cracks. We dive into some of the smaller lighting trends we’re seeing so far this year.
Tiffany Lamps

An interesting phenomenon likely linked to the rise of popularity of vintage furniture and designs have seen younger generations show big love for the iconic Tiffany lamp. Their appeal relates to their nostalgia, with many looking to reinstate a feeling of home with Tiffany Lamps having grown familiar with the design from childhood.

The Tiffany Lamp is the perfect way to achieve this inviting feeling, with their wonderful stained glass offering warm inviting light, to their decorative whimsical themes and sculpted bases. Even the link to nature and organic forms add to their inviting appeal. They may have fallen out of style in favour of sleeker cleaner modern designs for a spell, but they’re back in a big way now people are searching for furniture that can bring back joy, colour and memories.

What’s great about Tiffany Style lamps is their versatility. You can easily find a style to your taste with some leaning towards geometric patterns while others mimic full-blown blooms.
Wooden Beaded Chandeliers

If you’ve been searching for a light for a while, there’s no doubt you’ve seen wooden beaded chandeliers everywhere, hinting at a resurgence for boho finishes! We think its a great trend that has been quietly re-emerging over the last few years and looks set to stay a while longer. They’re a beautiful balance of something both opulent and casual allowing for a glamorous but relaxed finish to your space. These chandeliers look incredible in older properties or those with classical features, but blend really well with other more modern furniture pieces due to their more subdued design.

Could this be the return of shabby chic???? Maybe we’re not ready for that yet, but its certainly inline with the French country, modern country and even Scandinavian trend influences we’ve seen a lot of lately.
Scalloped Edges

With vintage furniture becoming an increasingly popular choice due to its charming character, high quality and sustainability, scalloped edges and ribbed texture have become all the range in lighting. We’ve seen a huge rise of popularity in vintage style wall lights, often made from ribbed glass, flounced ceiling pendants and scalloped table lamps! Offering a great way to subtly disrupt clean lines in your space in exchange for something quaintly dynamic.
Cornucopia Lighting

Is food becoming a luxury? That is the concerning trend among the internet and younger generations facing an increasing cost of living, with Vogue articles even titled ‘to Gen Z, food is the luxury’. There’s been a huge trend of using food to create luxury visuals and content everywhere from Instagram to TikTok, promoting out of reach lifestyles, ‘it’ girls, and even designer goods, which begs the question, is this influencing lighting trends too?

We’ve seen a lot of popularity in our playful food-shaped lights, with one of our most popular products of the year so far being the Laura Ashley Artichoke Table Lamps!
Whether or not food is a luxury, these gorgeously whimsical lights will outlast the real deal and provide a beautiful feeling of summer and abundance. Perhaps we’ll just put it down to the artichoke’s sculptural appeal…
Luxury Outdoor Lighting
With more of us seeing our gardens as ‘outdoor living rooms’, outdoor lighting is moving more towards design and luxury than being purely functional. Creating a seamless visual between your inside spaces and your outside is key! For example if you’ve chosen traditional styles for your interior, match this to the exterior etc.

In warmer climates you could even play with bold sculptural lighting through the addition of interesting non-electric shades that would more typically be seen inside, however with our notorious British weather we would suggest simply investing in a simple IP44 or IP65 rated pendant and you’ll be good to go.
Clashing Lights

An eclectic choice of lighting, much in the vein of all contemporary trends currently, is definitely in. Whether that means pairing a bold space-age table lamp with an organic sculptural chandelier, or pairing ribbed glass wall lights with a clean chrome pendant, unexpected lighting pairings are all the range and the key to unlocking a dynamic and unique space.

This trend is of course done thoughtfully, with the ‘clashes’ actually complimenting each other with subtle juxtapositions and is a reflection of how we are moving away from strict trends and into something more focused on personal preferences and taste.
