Ascent Solar Technologies, a U.S.-based leader in lightweight and flexible thin-film photovoltaic (PV) technology, has signed an agreement to supply its advanced solar solutions to a power systems provider based in Colorado. The agreement involves the delivery of Ascent’s thin-film PV units for evaluation, with shipments scheduled to be completed before the end of July 2025. This highlights the company’s ability to fulfill orders quickly and efficiently.

The PV units supplied by Ascent will be reviewed for potential integration into the provider’s existing solar array products. These solutions are part of Ascent’s CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) product line, which has been refined through applications in space missions. Designed for high-performance and mission-specific needs, these PV products are manufactured at the company’s 5 MW facility located in Thornton, Colorado.

Paul Warley, Chief Executive Officer of Ascent Solar Technologies, said in a statement, “Working with another Colorado-based solar technology provider will give us greater control over the supply chain, making it much easier for our team to efficiently support customers in the Department of Defense, space industry, and more. Our lightweight, flexible solar technology is specifically tailored for use in the punishing conditions of space, so as demand for space defense solutions and interest in space-based solar power continues to grow, we expect to see even greater adoption of our thin-film PV offerings.”

One of Ascent’s key strengths lies in its ability to deliver customized solar array solutions within six to eight weeks—a significant advantage compared to industry norms, where competitors often require nine to twelve months for delivery. Over recent months, Ascent has continued to secure and fulfill multiple orders for solar hardware, all of which remain on track for completion and delivery during the summer of 2025. This development underscores Ascent Solar’s strong market position and its commitment to innovation, fast delivery, and high-quality U.S.-based manufacturing in the growing renewable energy sector.
