Ford has just unveiled a fully electric Bronco and an EREV version of the Bronco. If you haven’t seen exciting news and marketing around that, that’s because these versions of the Bronco are not for Ford’s home market (USA). They are for China. They are being produced by Jiangling Motors (JMC), a joint venture Ford has a 32% stake in.
We don’t have a lot of info about the new plugin Broncos yet, but we do have some info. Here are the numbers we know on the fully electric Bronco:
- 650 km range rating (CLTC)
- 5 seats
- 232 kW (311 hp) combined power output — 130 kW motor on front axle, 202 kW motor on rear axle
- 5,025 mm length
- 1,960 mm width
- 1,815 mm height
- 2,950 mm wheelbase
- 2,630 kg curb weight
- 105.4 kWh LFP BYD Blade battery.
And here’s a little more info on the EREV Bronco:
- 43.7 kWh battery
- 220 km BEV range
- 2,510 kg curb weight.
We don’t know for sure yet, but we think these electric Broncos will start getting delivered in China in the 4th quarter. As far as the United States, well, we may never get them. We’ll see….
